The heartwood is a light yellowish to golden brown with grey to nearly black streaks. The sapwood is a pale greyish to yellowish brown. The color tends to darken with age. Black limba is easy to work with both hand and machine tools. It glues and finishes well. Common uses are veneer, furniture, musical instruments and turned objects.
