The heartwood ranges from a very pale pink to a deeper reddish brown. It sometimes has streaks of medium to dark reddish brown. The color of African mahogany tends to darken with age. It is easy to work with, glue and finish. Common uses are interior trim, furniture, turned items, veneer and boat building.
